Year 1 Architecture – Trip to the Cathedral!

Once again we had a couple of fantastic visits to the cathedral this year for the History and Theory module. Students undertook drawing exercises and got up close and personal with the historic interior!

Jelly Buildings!

This week students were challenged to make a famous building out of Jelly. It was quite the messy event! Students from the whole school came to witness the wonderment! The idea behind the challenge was that students would each have to study a particular building, understand it in plan, section and three dimensions and document it. Students also had to make a model of the building and produce a mould using vacuum forming. The quick project got students working hard in the workshop and helped them become more familiar with the tools available to them! IMG_0441
Here are some examples!
